GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 29, 2017) – Shanell Carey, a senior elementary education major at Bob Jones University, serves this semester as a student teacher at Bell’s Crossing Elementary in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Carey, a resident of Nassau, Bahamas, works in the fifth grade department. Carey’s responsibilities include preparing student packets, developing and executing lesson plans, working one-on-one with students, and providing support for mentor teachers.
“This experience has really taught me that if you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail,” said Carey. “I am grateful for this invaluable opportunity and for the classroom preparation I was given to get me to this point.”
