GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 22, 2018) – Rachel Wetherington, a senior sport management major at Bob Jones University, serves as an events department intern for Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.

Charlotte Motor Speedway, known as “The Greatest Place to See the Race,” is a race vacation destination that features a 1.5 mile racing track, memorabilia shops and the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Wetherington, a resident of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, assists with event set up and tear down, registering participants for car shows, assembling event staff on-boarding materials, helping to coordinate event logistics and completing various other tasks.

“Since I want to pursue a career in sports event management, this internship is giving me invaluable experience and insight into the world of large-scale sports event coordination. The crew at Charlotte Motor Speedway is one of the most respected teams in motorsports and it is an honor and a privilege to work alongside them,” said Wetherington.
