NCCAA Honors Three BJU Bruins Intercollegiate Athletes as Scholar Athletes

(March 26, 2014) – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) recently recognized Evan Brondyke, Zach Mercado and Kirtis Yurchak as “NCCAA Scholar Athletes.”  The honorees are members of the Bob Jones University Bruins intercollegiate men’s basketball team.Mercado

Mercado, a senior health, fitness and recreation major from Goodyear, Ariz., Brondyke, a senior health, fitness and recreation major from Raleigh, N.C., and Yurchak, a junior accounting major from West Chester, Ohio, were honored by the NCCAA based on the criteria of classification, academic workload and GPA.

Yurchak“We are very proud of each of our scholar athletes,” Bruins athletic director Neal Ring said. “Their commitment to do their best for God’s glory while representing BJU in competition and in the classroom is a testament to the students we are blessed to have here.”
