Natalie Shirley Joins BJU Nursing Faculty

GREENVILLE, S.C (September 14, 2021) – Natalie Shirley joins the Bob Jones University faculty this fall as an assistant professor in the Division of Nursing in the School of Health Professions. 

“Natalie is coming to us with recent experience in nursing management and education. She will be teaching the fundamentals, introductory medical-surgical clinicals and instructing students in the classroom and clinical for intermediate medical-surgical nursing,” said Megan Lanpher, Division of Nursing chair. “She has a wide range of experience in adult nursing care over her 16-year career and is enthusiastic about helping students grow in their knowledge and skills.”  

Shirley earned an ADN from Greenville Technical College and completed her BSN from Walden University in 2015. She is scheduled to finish an MSN from Western Governors University in 2021. 

Prior to joining the BJU faculty, Shirley held several positions at Prisma Health Upstate including acute care registered nurse, an acute care float pool registered nurse and an assistant nurse manager. As a nurse manager, she oversaw the day-to-day operations of a 32-bed surgical unit and various aspects of employee hiring, onboarding, and corrective actions for over 65 employees. 

“I am excited to be able to join the faculty at BJU and am looking forward to watching the nursing students grow both academically and spiritually,” said Shirley.
