GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 3, 2017)– Natalie Pierce, a senior communication disorders major at Bob Jones University, serves as a speech therapist intern this semester at Westcliffe Elementary School and Bells Crossing Elementary School, both located in Greenville.

Pierce, a resident of Apex, North Carolina, is gaining hands-on experience shadowing two speech-language pathologists and performing speech therapy with K-5 to 5th-grade students. Her responsibilities include creating lesson plans for therapy sessions, providing articulation and language impediment therapy for students, and providing social skills therapy for students with autism.

“This opportunity has made me fall more in love with speech therapy,” says Pierce. “I love being with the students and helping them in every way I can. The experience here has confirmed that I want to work in speech therapy for the rest of my life.”
