Mullholand to Serve as Associate Professor of Exercise Science at BJU

GREENVILLE, S.C. (August 19, 2015) – Daryl Mullholand will join the Bob Jones University faculty this fall as an associate professor of exercise science in the School of Education’s Division of Health, Exercise and Sport Science. Mullholand previously served as an associate professor of exercise and sports science at Clearwater Christian College (CCC) in Clearwater, Florida, and as an adjunct professor at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

“We are excited to welcome Daryl to the BJU faculty,” said Dr. Brian Carruthers, dean of the School of Education. “He brings a wealth of experience and an enthusiasm to teach and work with students to enable them to excel academically and in the workforce.”

Mulholland earned a BS in Physical Education (1987) from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, and an MA in Physical Education (1989) from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

In addition to his work at CCC and St. Petersburg College, Mullholand served as an adjunct professor at Barry University in Seminole, Florida, a medical magnet health and physical education teacher at Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Florida, an elementary physical education teacher at Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg, Florida and lead teacher for College for Kids at St. Petersburg Junior College.

In addition to his duties in the classroom, he will serve as an assistant athletic trainer for the BJU Bruins. Mullholand brings extensive experience as an athletic trainer having served in that capacity at CCC, Pinellas County United Women’s Soccer, Boca Ciega High School and Northside Christian School. He also served numerous times as a host athletic trainer for the National Christian College Athletic Association’s national soccer tournaments.

Throughout his professional career, Mullholand was a member of CCC’s Safety Committee and Athletic Committee. He chaired their Wellness Committee and served as a board member for CCC’s Institutional Review Board.

He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, licensed as a Florida Athletic Trainer and certified as an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.

Mullholand has participated in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship (2006), Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon (2009) and the Boston Marathon (2011).
