GREENVILLE, S.C. (December 8, 2017) – Mallory Manville, a senior communication disorders major at Bob Jones University, served this semester as an intern at Tigerville Elementary School and A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering, both in Greenville County, South Carolina.

Manville, a resident of Wyandotte, Michigan, assisted a school-based speech language pathologist by writing lesson plans and leading speech therapy sessions. Manville also participated in a number of individual education plan meetings and contributed information about students’ speech and language abilities in order to assist with writing educational goals and providing accommodations within the classroom.

“My experience with this clinical practicum has opened my eyes to the people and reality behind the textbook knowledge that I have gained in classes over the past three years,” said Manville. “Working in a school during my undergraduate program has drastically increased my knowledge, clinical skill, and passion for the field of speech pathology. This practicum has greatly prepared me for my graduate school experience and has further increased my desire to pursue a career as a speech language pathologist.”
