GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 29, 2017) – Rachel Madeira Ledbetter, a 2016 graduate of Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cinema Production, won Best Student Production for her film Going Back at the 42nd annual International Christian Visual Media (ICVM) Conference held June 25-28 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Presented each year at the ICVM Conference, the Crown Awards recognize excellence in the production and content of films and videos that are created to reflect Christian values.

“We are so proud of Rachel and her outstanding accomplishment,” says Dr. Darren Lawson, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication at BJU. “Her hard work and dedication to excellence was evident in her senior film project, a piece of art truly deserving of the two national awards it has earned.”

Ledbetter, a resident of Central, South Carolina, also received first place in narrative film in the Intercollegiate National Religious Broadcasters (iNRB) Student Production Awards Competition for her film earlier this year.

Going Back tells the story of Emma, a 16 year-old girl who succumbs to mental paralysis from post-traumatic stress following an accident that claimed her father’s life, as she questions whether her life is really worth living.
