GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 28, 2021) – Lauren Kamibayashiyama, a senior educational studies major at Bob Jones University, is completing an internship with Camp Green Cove in Zirconia, North Carolina.
Founded in 1945, Camp Green Cove serves girls ages 6 – 17. The camp offers unique, noncompetitive experiences which focus on a variety of outdoor activities.
A resident of Romeoville, Illinois, Kamibayashiyama works as a camp counselor and nature guide. She is also conducting observational research for a project about the effect of nature and camp life on youth’s mental health.
“I have had so much personal growth while here and have made many valuable connections with individuals that I have met, ” said Kamibayashiyama. “I chose Green Cove because it is nothing that I am used to and have experienced before, but it is similar to the setting of my future profession which makes this opportunity exceptionally valuable to me.”
