Kelly Crum Appointed Interim Chair for Division of Nursing

GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 5, 2018) – Bob Jones University recently appointed Kelly Crum, a nursing professor in the College of Arts and Science, to serve as interim chair for BJU’s Division of Nursing beginning in the spring 2018 semester.

“We are thrilled that Mrs. Crum is willing to step into the role,” said Dr. Renae Wentworth, dean of the College of Arts and Science. “Her well-honed management skills will serve the Division well during this interim period.”

As interim chair, Crum will assume full leadership in the division as the search for a permanent chair proceeds.

Crum earned a BS in Nursing (1990) from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. She also earned an MS in Nursing (1995) with a focus in maternal, child nursing, curriculum development, and nursing education from the University of South Alabama as well as a post-master’s degree (1999) in women’s health nurse practitioner coursework. Crum is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (ABD) from the University of Phoenix and is a licensed nurse in the states of Arizona and Wisconsin.

Most recently, Crum served as Director of the School of Nursing at Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin, where she also served as an associate professor and adjunct faculty member and taught courses such as nursing research, pathophysiology, pediatrics, and maternal child health while at MBU.

Previously, Crum served as an instructional specialist in the Health Sciences and Nursing Department for the University of Phoenix Online and as a certified advanced facilitator at the University of Phoenix. Crum has also served as a nursing faculty member at Pensacola Christian College and Piedmont International University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

In addition, Crum has extensive clinical experience and has worked as a staff nurse in a variety of medical units across the country. She also served as the Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Staff Development at Americare Putnam Nursing Home in Charleston, West Virginia; nursing supervisor for Health Care Services (HCS) Nursing and charge nurse at King’s Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky; and as the college health nurse at Piedmont International University.
