Josh Casillas Elected Speaker of the House at SC Student Legislature

GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 5, 2018) –  Josh Casillas, a senior business administration major at Bob Jones University, was elected Speaker of the House during the South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) fall session in Columbia, South Carolina, Oct. 24-26.

Casillas, a resident of Greer, will serve as Speaker of the House for the next session. Past members of SCSL, a student run organization, include South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster.

“Josh is a solid leader and thoughtful contributor to our delegation and SCSL at large,” said Randy Page, advisor to the BJU delegation. “His fellow delegates recognized his leadership both on and off the floor and rewarded his efforts by electing him as speaker.”

In addition to BJU, a number of public and private institutions of higher learning participate in SCSL including The Citadel, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Erskine College, Francis Marion University and the University of South Carolina.
