Joseph Watne, a senior at Bob Jones University from Greenville, South Carolina, is expanding his technical skills and gaining valuable industry experience through an internship with Mighty Movers, a local moving company based in Greenville.
As part of the internship, Watne is developing an AI-integrated website designed to provide customers with accurate moving quotes in advance. In addition, he is building a database to manage employee and customer information and has also started preliminary work on a mobile app for the company.
“This has so far been a great experience as it is a lot more hands-on for me than I believe any other internship would have been,” said Watne. “I am learning new things in IT that will be helpful for practical use in the real world and the very near future. It’s also giving me the opportunity to relearn and put into practice software I’ve studied at BJU. Overall, this internship is phenomenal and will truly help me get to where I want to be on the professional side when I finish my degree in the fall.”
As an Information Technology major, Watne’s internship reflects a strong bridge between academic learning and workplace application, equipping him with both the technical proficiency and project experience needed to succeed in the IT field.
