GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 4, 2016) – Jesse Rush, a homeschool senior, was recently named to the Bob Jones University men’s soccer team roster for the fall of 2016.

A resident of Greenville, Rush’s soccer experience has included playing varsity soccer for four years as striker and mid-fielder for the Greenville Hurricanes, as well as striker for his club team, Furman United. Rush’s Furman United Team was a semi-finalist in the 2015 South Carolina State Cup Tournament. The Hurricanes are Southeast Regional Independence Cup Champions. Rush has been privileged to serve as a captain for the Hurricanes, and he has been the Canes’ MVP for two seasons.

“We are very excited to bring in a well-rounded group of players who have been very successful both on the field and in the classroom,” said BJU men’s soccer coach Jesse McCormick. “We look forward to challenging these young men to grow and excel during their time at BJU and we are excited about what they can bring to the team both on and off the field.”

Rush maintains a 3.4 GPA and will be the second Bruin in the Rush family, as his brother Josh runs for the Bruins’ cross-country team.
