James Ruley Honored by Daughters of American Revolution

Greenville, S.C. (March 26, 2014) – James Ruley, a senior majoring in history at Bob Jones University, was recently recognized by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for “Outstanding Work in American History.”

Ruley, a resident of Fremont, Mich., was presented with the award by Miss Iris Jean Wade Patten, Regent for the Behethland Butler Chapter of the DAR. In addition to an award certificate, the DAR presented Ruley with a book about South Carolina historical markers.

To be considered for the award, Ruley entered his senior history research paper titled, “A History of Student-Led Mission Organizations at Bob Jones University: 1927-2013,” which explores the history of student-led missions organizations at BJU, including the current organization, Missions Advance.
