GREENVILLE, S.C. (August 3, 2024) – James McCartney, a junior criminal justice major at Bob Jones University, completed an internship with the Department of Social Services in York County, South Carolina.
A resident of Chester, McCartney organized case files, transcribed notes from caseworkers and shadowed staff as they met with clients.
“This internship gave me a better understanding of how to treat people. I learned not to make assumptions about those dealing with difficult circumstances,” said McCartney. “Our goal was to ensure that the child was safe and, if possible, the family could be reunified.”
