GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 22, 2019) – Jackson Lawson, a senior Bible major at Bob Jones University, serves as an intern at Inter-City Baptist Church in Allen Park, Michigan.
Lawson, a resident of Spotsylvania, Virginia, is participating in a ministry, Spread the Word, which partners with local churches in the metro Detroit area to conduct Gospel outreach activities including door-to-door visitation, worldview quizzing, and an evangelistic Bible study for children. Additionally, they partner with youth groups from across the country who assist in outreach ministries and raise community awareness about the church.
Interns also have an opportunity to present the Gospel in evangelistic small group settings, teach Sunday School and be mentored by the pastoral staff on a routine basis.
“I highly value this opportunity to not only observe pastors in their churches and unique ministry settings, but also to serve alongside them and learn how to best serve the body of Christ and get the Gospel into the community as I prepare to do the same for the rest of my life,” Lawson said.
