GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 18, 2016) – Heidi Hendrix, a senior studio art major at Bob Jones University, serves as an intern for the BJU Museum and Gallery in Greenville, South Carolina.

Hendrix, a resident of Arvada, Colorado, works with a community outreach project for special needs adults at the gallery. The project includes making crafts and organizing demonstrations for art lessons on the basic concepts used to communicate in art given to special needs participants.

The BJU Museum and Gallery displays nearly 200 pieces of Gothic to nineteenth century furniture, approximately 100 works of sculpture, some 60 textiles, over 1,000 ancient artifacts, and approximately 130 architectural elements. The gallery holds one of the largest and most interesting collections of European Old Master paintings in America.

“It’s been a good experience,” said Hendrix. “I have been given the opportunity to try new things, interact with new people, and witness some of the inner workings of a world-class art museum.”
