GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 16, 2016) – Hannah Smith, a senior journalism and mass communication major at Bob Jones University, is serving this summer as an intern for The Grace and Mercy Foundation located in New York City.

Smith, a resident of Santa Ana, California, provides administrative and organizational support while learning about non-profits and grant making. Some of her responsibilities include reviewing, preparing and presenting funding recommendation for existing grantees to the foundation’s board and foundation team; strengthening relationships and conducting site visits with existing and new grantees; updating and developing website and social media content; and completing research on significant areas of concentration including homelessness, incarceration, human trafficking, wounded veterans, and youth ministry.

“Interning at The Grace and Mercy Foundation will allow me to explore the world of non-profit organizations while contributing in a real, tangible way,” says Smith. “Upon the completion of my degree in journalism and mass communication, I would love to enter the field of public relations in the non-profit sector. This internship is a perfect segue to this long-term goal.”
