Gavin Dobbertin, a junior at Bob Jones University from Grand Blanc, Michigan, is currently interning with Barnett Financial & Tax, gaining firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of a financial planning firm.
In his role, Dobbertin supports the financial planning team by managing and updating client data within the company’s CRM system. His responsibilities include entering financial information, linking client accounts, labeling critical data fields, and reviewing signed documents to track important dates. Additionally, he uses eMoney financial planning software to analyze client geographic data.
“This internship has been a great opportunity to build my resume and gain real-world experience that will help launch my career,” said Dobbertin. “The skills and exposure I’m getting here are preparing me for future opportunities in the finance industry.”
As a Business Administration major, Dobbertin’s internship is an important step toward his goal of working in the financial sector, equipping him with technical and analytical skills that complement his academic studies.
