Pursuant to 4 U.S.C. § 7(m) and S.C. Code Ann. § 10-1-161(D), the United States Flag shall be flown at half-staff, effective immediately and for a period of thirty days, due to the passing of former President George H.W. Bush. Accordingly, the Governor orders that the flags atop the State Capitol Building and on all state buildings shall be flown at half-staff until sunset on December 30, 2018, in tribute to President Bush’s extraordinary legacy and lifetime of distinguished and patriotic service to the United States of America.
