GREENVILLE, S.C. (September 4, 2017) – Amber Eubanks will return to Bob Jones University this fall as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Music in the School of Fine Arts and Communication. Previously, Eubanks served as a string teacher at Bob Jones Academy.
“We’re excited to welcome Amber to a fulltime appointment on the University faculty,” said Dr. Darren Lawson, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication. “We have greatly benefited from Amber’s faithful service in our pre-college program, and we look forward to having her part of the University faculty now.”
Eubanks earned a BS (2004) and an MME (2008) in Music Education from BJU as well as a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction degree. She is certified in Music Education (instrumental and piano) by the State of South Carolina.
Eubanks has served as a cello and bass class instructor, student teaching supervisor, and chamber music coach and has taught private cello and bass lessons at BJU and BJA for several years. She also served as the string orchestra director for Blue Ridge Middle and High Schools, as the assistant director for Greenville County’s Honors Youth Orchestras, and as a South Carolina Region Orchestra Assistant.
Eubanks is a member of the American String Teacher’s Association and National Association for Music Education. She has participated in the South Carolina Cello Choir, BJU’s Symphonic Orchestra, Virginia Playweek’s Chamber Music Workshop, and Ohio State’s String Teaching Workshop. She has also served as an adjudicator for the National Federation of Music, American Association of Christian Schools (AACS), and numerous high school music festivals.
Outside of the classroom, Eubanks is an active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, both in the music program and in a variety of other ministries, and provides music for services held at Brookdale Assisted Living Home.
“After 10 years serving at BJA and as adjunct at BJU, it is a privilege to continue to support BJU’s mission of developing Christ-like character that is scripturally disciplined, others-serving, God-loving, Christ-proclaiming and focused above,” said Eubanks. “With BJU’s rich history of promoting high quality arts, I look forward to participating in the continued growth of the fine arts at BJU.”
