Greenville, SC (May 14, 2013) – Ethan Simpson, a 2013 Bob Jones University graduate from Blue Springs, MO, received third place in the 2013 Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. The competition, the only event of its kind for singers up to the ages of 23, is held through YouTube video entries. Ethan competed in the Art Song category for College/University Voices (undergraduates), ages 18-23, and received a cash prize.
Hal Leonard Corporation launched the innovative concept of a serious music competition for voice students comprised entirely of YouTube video entries in 2011.
The required repertoire was largely drawn from art song and musical theatre literature.
