GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 12, 2016) – Erin Jarvis, a resident of Tarpon Springs, was recently named as the first recruit for the Bob Jones University Bruins women’s volleyball team roster for the fall of 2016.

Jarvis attended Tarpon Springs High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida and was a standout player for the team as a captain for her junior and senior seasons. Jarvis committed to joining Coach Vickie Denny at Clearwater Christian College, but then learned CCC would be closing. Jarvis decided to attend a community college as she continued to look toward her future. She stayed in touch with Denny and after learning of the addition of the Bruins volleyball program and visiting the campus, she signed her declaration of intent.

“Erin is the perfect person to be our first signee for Bruins volleyball,” head coach Vickie Denny said. “She is a spiritually minded young lady who has a real passion for the sport of volleyball. Erin had a great testimony while playing for her public school and club programs and she will bring a level of experience, leadership and competitiveness that will enhance our new program.”

The women’s volleyball team will begin intercollegiate competition this fall in the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) DII.
