GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 8, 2016) – Dr. Julie Hartman, teacher education professor and program coordinator for early care and development and early childhood education programs at Bob Jones University, recently received a grant awarded by First Steps Greenville to fund pinwheel gardens in honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month during April.

The grant will allow pinwheel gardens to be set up on the campuses of BJU, East North Street and Hollis Academies as part of the National Pinwheels for Prevention campaign. Students and faculty from all three schools will also participate in the Pinwheels for Prevention Walk that will take place during the month of April.

Students from the School of Education and BJU Bruins student athletes will plant the gardens at BJU beginning April 11. Gardens will remain in place until April 29.
