GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 18, 2016) – Dr. Julie Hartman, teacher education professor and program coordinator for early care and development and early childhood education programs at Bob Jones University, recently received a grant awarded by the Children’s Trust of South Carolina which will allow BJU’s Early Childhood Education department to become a Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Partner.

The CAP grant will enable BJU’s early childhood education students to continue “Darkness to Light, Stewards of Children” training at no cost.

In addition, the grant will fund a bilingual prevention PTA event to be held at East North Street Academy.  Along with this event, BJU and East North Street Academy will be featured in a special April insert in The Greenville Journal, which will be distributed to over 40,000 Upstate homes.

Earlier this year, Hartman received grants for educational and promotional materials from First Steps Greenville and Read Greenville for her work in the field of early childhood education.
