GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 29, 2016) – Donovan Lewis, a senior at Bob Jones Academy, was recently named to the Bob Jones University Bruins men’s soccer team roster for the fall of 2016.

A resident of Greenville, Lewis is a four year varsity player for the BJA Lions soccer team and served as captain his senior year. In addition, Lewis has played club soccer with Furman United Soccer Club. His club team, coached by Cesar Flores, has reached the South Carolina State Cup semifinals the last two years. Last season his FUSC Inferno team reached a ranking of 64th in the nation with a record of 7-1-1. Lewis plays both midfield and forward for his club and high school team.

“We are very excited to bring in a well-rounded group of players who have been very successful both on the field and in the classroom,” said BJU men’s soccer coach Jesse McCormick. “We look forward to challenging these young men to grow and excel during their time at BJU and we are excited about what they can bring to the team both on and off the field.”

Lewis maintains a 3.91 GPA and plans to major in chemistry at BJU this fall.
