Catherine Templeton to Speak at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 31, 2018) – The Bob Jones University Public Policy Organization will host Catherine Templeton, candidate for Governor, for a forum Thursday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. in Levinson Hall.

Zach Heltsley, President of the BJU Public Policy Organization said, “We are pleased to host Catherine Templeton to give our students and the greater Greenville community an opportunity to hear from her.”

Catherine graduated from Wofford College with a degree in Political Economics and Philosophy.  Her first job was working in the inspection department of a textile mill in Jonesville, South Carolina.  After she worked her way up to training manager and then senior management over multiple factories, she continued her education and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Recruited by business leaders to join former Governor Nikki Haley, Templeton served as Secretary of Labor, one of Haley’s first cabinet appointments, and then as the director of the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.

She has spent most of her life in the private sector advising Fortune 500 companies nationally and working in manufacturing locally.

Following her presentation, Templeton will hold a question and answer session. The forum is free and open to the public.
