GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 23, 2019) – Brooklyn Veenstra, a senior health sciences major at Bob Jones University, serves as a summer intern for Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan.

Veenstra, a resident of Allen Park, Michigan, is working with the marketing and communications team at the institute. She will interview patients and write content for the nonprofit hospital’s magazine, Karmanos Hope.

“After personally watching my father undergo treatment for stage 4 cancer at this very hospital, I have so much admiration and respect for the doctors and staff that make Karmanos the well-esteemed, reputable cancer hospital that it is,” said Veenstra. “I am eager to be able to serve hurting patients and their families through my internship this summer.”
