Brian Buda Wins Christmas Carol Commission Competition

Greenville, S.C. (January 22, 2014) –Brian Buda’s composition entitled, “All My Heart This Night Rejoices”, was selected as the 2013 winner for the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s annual Christmas Carol Competition.

Buda, who received his BMus and MMus in Church Music from Bob Jones University, is the third BJU graduate to win this competition in the last five years.

As the winner, Buda was awarded a cash prize of $1,000, as well as travel and lodging for the world premiere of his winning composition by the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir (ISC) at its annual Festival of Carols performances.

According to the ISC, “submitted works must be original, unpublished, and have not been publicly performed; between 3 and 5 minutes long; written for SATB, mixed adult choir; and may be a cappella or utilize keyboard accompaniment. Text and language are at the discretion of the composer, and should be suitable for a Christmas/holiday performance.”

Brian and his family live in Mauldin.
