GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 22, 2018) – Bob Jones University will present the Piano Battle, a unique piano performance featuring internationally accomplished pianists Andreas Kern and Paul Cibis, Thursday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. in BJU’s Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium (FMA).

The brainchild of Kern and Cibis, the Piano Battle features the duo going head-to-head on stage performing a variety of classical pieces. The show is divided into several rounds, each featuring a unique musical style. The audience is then invited to vote on the pianists’ performances and determine a winner.

“The audience is in store for one of the most unique programs we’ve ever had at BJU,” said Dr. Darren Lawson, dean of BJU’s School of Fine Arts and Communication. “Come prepared for superb playing, intense competition, and exciting audience engagement. This is one you don’t want to miss.”

Kern and Cibis have performed at music festivals throughout their home country of Germany, including the Beethovenfest Bonn, Niedersachsische Musiktage, Rheingau Musik Festival, Klavier-Festival Ruhr, and the Schlesvig-Holstein Musik Festival. The Piano Battle has also been performed for sold-out audiences throughout Europe, the United States and Asia, including the Hong Kong City Festival and a 2013 open air spectacle before 7,000 fans in Taiwan.
