GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 29, 2016) – Bob Jones University will host the annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony Thursday, May 5, for the 2016 graduates of BJU’s nursing program. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. in Rodeheaver Auditorium on the BJU campus.

During the ceremony, 44 nursing students will be presented with individual pins featuring a cross, which represents the Christian emphasis of the BJU nursing program. The students will carry lamps, representing the light and enlightenment that come with knowledge, which they will light during the ceremony while reciting the nurse’s pledge.

Bob Jones III, chancellor of BJU, will be the guest speaker. Dr. Dave Fisher, vice provost of the university, will give the welcome and benediction.

The first pinning ceremony was held in 1982, the inaugural year of BJU’s nursing program. This year’s event will be the 35th pinning ceremony.
