GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 20, 2014) – Bob Jones University will set aside the week of Oct. 20-23 to focus on the work and importance of missions. This year’s theme, “Only One Life to Offer,” is taken from Matthew 16:25-26.

The daily chapel service, held Monday through Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium on the BJU campus, will feature missionary speakers.

Rev. Jon Crocker, missionary to Mexico with Gospel Fellowship Association, will speak Monday and Tuesday.  Mr. Jay Cross, missionary to Peru (on deputation) with IBM Global, will speak Wednesday and Thursday.

Over one hundred representatives from over fifty mission organizations will be on campus to talk with students and those interested in serving on the mission field.

The University started Missions Emphasis Week in 1989 to impress on the students the demand of world evangelism. The command to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel” is for all of us. Missionaries will show the need for workers – both full-time missionaries and business professionals – and introduce their organizations to students who want to use the gifts God has given them in serving Him in a variety of ways on the mission field.
