GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 19, 2016) – Bob Jones University is hosting “We Stand Together” on Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the Davis Field House on the BJU campus.

“We Stand Together” is a fundraising event spearheaded by the BJU Bruins athletics department in partnership with the Greenville Cancer Society to show families in the community the importance of standing together to fight cancer.

Anchored by the Bruins men’s and women’s basketball games at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. versus Columbia International University, students, faculty and staff and members of the community will be able to purchase cancer ribbon stickers to commemorate a friend or loved one who has battled cancer. Additionally, “We Stand Together” t-shirts will be available in lavender, the universal color for all types of cancer, for purchase by attendees. All proceeds from the sale of the cancer stickers and t-shirts, as well as a portion of game ticket sales, will be donated to the Greenville Cancer Society.

“I’m thankful for the leadership of our students in helping families in our community as they stand together with their loved ones,” said BJU President Steve Pettit. “I’ve seen firsthand the value of organizations like the Greenville Cancer Society and others who minister to the needs of those with cancer and their families.”
