Bob Jones University Confers Honorary Doctorate on Tillotson

GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 11, 2016) – At its 89th commencement exercises Friday, May 6, Bob Jones University honored Jim Tillotson, president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa, by conferring on him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in absentia.

Tillotson earned a BA in Pastoral Theology in 1991 and a MMin in 2002, both from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin.

Prior to being elected as president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Tillotson served as assistant pastor of DeForest Baptist Church in DeForest, Wisconsin; assistant pastor of Independent Baptist Church In Bolingbrook, Illinois and senior pastor of Meadowlands Baptist Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. During his ministry in Canada, Tillotson planted four churches, established a Christian school and a small Bible college.

Tillotson also currently serves on the Canadian and USA Councils of Baptist Mid-Missions of Cleveland, Ohio, and on the board of Grandview Camp in Eagar, Arizona.

He and his wife, Joan, were married in 1990 and are the parents of Anne, Tim and Beth.
