GREENVILLE, S.C. (September 16, 2016) – Bob Jones University was recently approved by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education and the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements for membership in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).

South Carolina was approved for the SARA Membership in June of 2016 and began accepting institutional applications on July 1. BJU was one of the first colleges in South Carolina to receive this approval.

“We are very excited about this development,” says Dr. Gladie Stroup, director of the Center for Distance Learning at BJU. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to extend the teaching ministry of Bob Jones University to students in states and territories where we were not previously authorized to offer distance learning.”

Membership in the SARA will allow BJU to offer distance learning programs in 10 additional U.S. states and territories, extending their reach to 54 out of 59 states and territories, with several others currently in the process of joining the SARA as well.

BJU offers approximately 60 undergraduate online courses as well as five fully online master’s degree programs in Educational Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Music Education, Biblical Studies, and Biblical Counseling. BJU also has a dual enrollment program that allows qualified high school juniors and seniors to take many of our undergraduate courses online for college credit while still in high school.
