GREENVILLE, S.C. (August 22, 2014) – The Bob Jones University Symphony Orchestra (BJUSO) was recently selected by audition to provide the featured performance at the general session of the South Carolina Music Educators Association’s (SCMEA) upcoming annual conference.

Under the direction of Dr. Michael W. Moore, the BJUSO will perform a full-length concert for the SCMEA membership at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina, Fri., Feb. 6 at 9:30 a.m.

“It is an honor to be invited to perform for such a discerning audience,” Moore said. “I’m proud of our students and thankful for the opportunity to make music with these talented musicians.”

The BJUSO has a long and rich tradition of performing masterworks from the orchestral repertoire in addition to mounting award-winning productions in collaboration with the BJU Opera Association. The orchestral program at BJU features three orchestras which provide student musicians with high-level career and ministry preparation while contributing to the cultural life of the student body and the greater Greenville community.
