The Community Service Council (CSC) at Bob Jones University will host a blood drive from Wednesday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. The Blood Connection buses will be located in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium.

“We love Greenville, and our upcoming blood drive offers a fantastic opportunity for BJU students to impact lives in our community directly,” said Dr. Matthew Weathers, interim chief enrollment officer. “By donating blood, students can help local hospitals have the resources needed to save lives and support patients in their time of need.”

For each blood donation, The Blood Connection will give $10 towards BJU’s annual Bible Conference offering project. During Bible Conference (Feb. 18-21), the BJU community will raise funds for an outside ministry through dozens of student-led fundraisers. The offering will be given to Jonathan’s House, a gospel-centered mission that provides physical and spiritual help, hope and healing to vulnerable children and their community in the Central African Republic. The ministry consists of a school, orphanage, and medical clinic. The goal is to raise $150,000 for a new building to house orphaned babies, toddlers and older girls.

Students, alumni and members of the public interested in donating blood are encouraged to eat iron-rich foods (i.e. meats, spinach, and broccoli), drink plenty of water, and eat a good meal the day they are donating.

All donors will receive $40 in rewards. Donors are encouraged to sign up for an appointment.
