GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 4, 2016) – Audrey Martin, a senior communication major at Bob Jones University, serves as an intern for The Blood Connection in Greenville.

Martin, a resident of Greer, serves in the marketing department and assists recruitment efforts, donor information records, and has active involvement during blood drives.

The Blood Connection, headquartered in Piedmont, South Carolina was founded in 1979 and is the largest independently managed, non-profit community blood center in the region. Their mission is to support healthcare partners with adequate, safe, cost-effective blood supplies and services.

“Being an intern at The Blood Connection has helped me in more ways than I was expecting,” says Martin. “I was excited to be able to implement the skills I have been learning in the classroom and having a chance to do that makes me thankful for the education I have received. My favorite part about my internship is that the mission and the vision of the company has a huge effect on each individual employee. When you strongly believe in your company’s mission, work can be a true joy.”
