Andrew Peterson Named to the BJU Bruins Men’s Soccer Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 1, 2016) – Andrew Peterson, a senior at Friendship Christian School, was recently named to the Bob Jones University men’s soccer team roster for the fall of 2016.

A resident of Raleigh, North Carolina, Peterson was a key contributor on both his high school and club teams. Peterson played an instrumental role in a total of 172 goals during his high school varsity career, scoring 92 goals and assisting in 80 goals.  Peterson was named to the 1st team All-State team his sophomore, junior, and senior years. During his junior year, Peterson was named the MaxPreps player of the week.  He was also voted most valuable player, best offense, team player and team leader by his teammates during his high school career. Peterson has played on several club teams and been one of the leading scorers on each of these teams. Currently, Peterson plays for a Premier Level Team which was a 2015 NC State Cup Finalist and qualified for Region 3, playing the top teams from across the Southeast.

“We are very excited to bring in a well-rounded group of players who have been very successful both on the field and in the classroom,” said BJU men’s soccer coach Jesse McCormick. “We look forward to challenging these young men to grow and excel during their time at BJU and we are excited about what they can bring to the team both on and off the field.”

Peterson maintains a 4.13 GPA and plans to major in Bible at BJU this fall.
